Twinging

Something is twinging -
a muscle pulling against bone.
It's in my chest,
just to the left,
next to the beat of my heart.
I don't know what it is today.
It's an unfamiliar thing.
But it's only there when I see you -
your eyes,
your smile.
I do wish it would go away,
and let you stay.
